The Catapult on the Highway

As I was driving down the road today, I came upon a car stopped on the shoulder. Pulled by this car was a trailer. Now, this is a common sight. I have seen thousands of trailers in my life, but something was different here.

This one had a catapult on it.

Living in an urban environment and not feudal Europe, I do not run into a lot of catapults. In fact, this is the first one. For the rest of my drive, I racked my brain trying to figure out exactly why this person would have this weapon on the side of I-35. Alas, I could not decide. Therefore I am turning to you:
